Meet Mr. Magoo

This is the stray that came to live with us almost 4 years ago. He is an outside cat but he's kind and loving and I don't know what we did before he came to us.

This was one of the first photos I'd taken with my Nikon D40. I wish the photo had been more sharp, especially the bee. If someone can tell me what I did wrong, I'd love to learn.

Lily Pad

I love the scalloped edges of the lily pads and how they lay on the flat water surface and then how the colors of the flora rise up and stand out.

Fowl & Feathers

I love the red mask on this fowl's face - does anyone know what kind of duck this is?

The Trees Were Filled With White Birds

The trees in Brackenridge Park were filled with birds, it looked like huge clumps of cotton, it was an amazing site.

Footbridge That's Also a Work of Art

This is a footbridge but it's also a work of art. There is a famous artist (my bad, don't remember the name) that sculpts this from concrete to look like wood, his work can be seen throughout San Antonio on the Riverwalk, Brackenridge Park, Botanical Gardens.

Parakeet at my Feeders

I think some of you may remember me telling you about this parakeet that appeared at our feeders one morning and stayed around for probably better than a week and then disappeared again (yeah I know what happened but I prefer to think of it disappearing, maybe finding the household that lost it in the first place).

I had been to this particular park (Brackenridge Park in San Antonio) many times before and never before have I remembered seeing these beautiful birds. It's magical the way they appear to walk on water as they step on the lilypads.

I've always been fascinated with the obvious things in nature. The lens allows us to sneak up and be a part of another world.
