This is a footbridge but it's also a work of art. There is a famous artist (my bad, don't remember the name) that sculpts this from concrete to look like wood, his work can be seen throughout San Antonio on the Riverwalk, Brackenridge Park, Botanical Gardens.

San Antonio continues to get nicer, downtown is beautiful and friendly, lots of hotels to choose from and the Tex-Mex Food and Margaritas cannot be beat!!!

This is a really beautiful creation, I really doesn't look like concrete. I wish every bridge was like this, it would make them much more meaningful.
Wow, if you did not say it is made of concrete, I really would have thought it is wood, and the artist carefully chose the design of the tree branches or small tree trunks :) . Very creative piece indeed.

OMG! There's a park here in Michigan that has the same type of thing.
It's over in Somerset Center. The guy who commissioned it (many many years ago) had spent time in Texas, and he saw some Mexican artisans that were able to create wood-like sculpture from concrete.
So he hired them to come to Michigan and create this park. There are 17 of these adorable footbridges crossing the creek. Each one is a different style of "wood".

There's a building built into one of the hills, where liquor was secretly made/distributed during the prohibition years. Atop that hill, there's a cement "tree" that actually functioned as a secret chimney/vent for the operation.
Fascinating stuff.
