Scenes of the Holidays

This is a small glimpse into my Santa Clause collection. I have in excess of 370 Santas, some as small as a thimble and others almost the size of a 5 year old child.

Mighty Tugboats

I don't know much of anything about tugboats but I love watching them in action, they are so powerful!
Each one looks similar and they do the same job but each of these photos depict a tugboat in a different port.

Windows of the World

I'm fascinated with windows, past, present, and future, or at least that's what looking through them gives the observer.
These were some of the windows I photographed during our visit to Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Colombia.

You Can Tell How Much Wealth Someone Has By The Number of Balconies On Their Home/Business

This is a photo of a street in the Old City in Cartagena, Colombia. Go ahead, click on the photo for a larger shot with much more detail.
Only the wealthy have balconies/verandahs and so the more you have on your home or business the wealthier you are (or so we were told by our tour guide).

Day Is Done, Gone The Sun

Saying Goodbye to the Day.
These shots were taken from the verandah of our cruiseship. There is something spectacular to starting the day in ports that are so beautiful they take your breath away and then ending your day with sunsets that beg to be captured and enjoyed forever.

Beautiful Rooftops

These are rooftops and steeples we found in Cartagena, Colombia, each is very different yet share so much of the same craftsmanship.
These were found inside the Old City of Cartagena.

Antigua, Guatamala

We were recently on a cruise that took us to Puerto Quetzal, Guatamala and from there we took an excursion to Antigua up in the mountains. This was a church in the main square area (everything in Mexico, Central, and South America is built with a main square area). The architecture and detail of the stone work can take your breath away.
Where have all the craftsman gone in America, why don't they build such majesty now?

At the Zoo

My husband and I decided this morning that we would take a trip to the zoo (our first in probably more than 15 years). We "thought" that because school was in session and all that it would be leisurely (wrong), there were children and their parents everywhere (and these were school aged children).......we wondered why they weren't in school instead of at the zoo.
Let me add that I took just shy of 700 photos in about 2.5 hours - LOL.
As always, you can click on any photo to look at it enlarged.

This bird's picture was taken through fencing if it looks blurry but I loved the odd color of it's feathers being turquoise.

This bird was scarry looking, it sat in a corner and looked almost like a odd owl.

Crow Came To Visit

This crow came to visit and stayed, and stayed, and stayed, moving from one tree and one branch to another, not making a sound but watching me vigilantly.
